French Para-Cyclist Dorian Foulon Retains Paralympic Title in C5 Category
French para-cyclist Dorian Foulon has once again showcased his exceptional talent and determination by retaining his Paralympic title in the pursuit individual race in the C5 category. The event took place at the prestigious Velodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, where Foulon, aged 26, delivered a stellar performance.
A Remarkable Victory
Dorian Foulon, who hails from France, clinched the gold medal in the pursuit individual race, a category designed for para-cyclists with severe hand or foot amputations. Foulon, who has a congenital left foot condition known as bot varus equin, demonstrated incredible skill and speed throughout the competition.
Dominating Performance
During the final race, Foulon showcased his dominance by outpacing his opponent, Ukrainian cyclist Yehor Dementyev, by over a second and a half in the 4,000m pursuit. Despite Dementyev setting a world record in the qualifiers, Foulon responded emphatically by shattering the record by more than four seconds.

After crossing the finish line, Foulon celebrated his victory with multiple victory laps, engaging with the enthusiastic crowd before dismounting from his bike to initiate a resounding applause in the electrifying velodrome atmosphere. The Breton cyclist, now based in the Basque Country, maintained a commanding lead over his rival throughout the race, showcasing his unwavering determination and focus.
