Students from Ua Pou College in Marquesas Receive Heartfelt Response from King Charles III of England
A heartwarming story has emerged from the small island of Ua Pou in the Marquesas as students from a 4th-grade class at Terre des Hommes College received a touching response from King Charles III of England. Last year, these students wrote a letter to the British monarch, expressing their best wishes to the royal family, and although the king couldn't reply personally, his cabinet conveyed that he was deeply moved by their gesture.
The letter, bearing the official seal of Buckingham Palace, home to the British royal family, was sent on July 30 to England and has now reached its recipients in the Marquesas, where the students are now in 3rd grade. The chief of Charles III's royal correspondence expressed gratitude for the students' interest in the royal family and commended them for the care they put into composing the letter.
In response to the students' letter, the royal correspondent conveyed, "It is very kind of you to have taken the time to write this letter. Although His Majesty is unable to reply to you personally, I can tell you that the king was touched by your interest in the royal family and greatly appreciated the effort you put into this correspondence. Thank you once again for thinking of His Majesty, who has asked me to convey his warm wishes to all of you."
The students, part of the 'Paumaka' class, had written to the King of England as part of their English coursework last year. Their college expressed pride in receiving a response from the royal household, highlighting the significance of this interaction with the British monarchy.
This heartwarming exchange between students from Ua Pou College and King Charles III of England showcases the power of reaching out and connecting across borders, demonstrating the impact of thoughtful gestures and the joy of receiving a personal response from a figure as esteemed as a monarch.
