The Spectacular Marathon Pour Tous: A Night of Triumph and Unity in Paris
The streets of Paris were illuminated with energy and determination as nearly 35,000 runners embarked on a historic journey during the Marathon Pour Tous event. This monumental night race marked a significant milestone as the first-ever event of its kind open to the Grand Public.
Participants from all corners of France and beyond, having trained rigorously through challenges like the Paris 2024 Club, Marathon Pour Tous app, and Team Orange Running, converged at the starting line on the iconic parvis of the Hôtel de Ville de Paris. The course, spanning 42.195 kilometers, showcased the breathtaking landmarks of Paris, including the Louvre Pyramid, Grand Palais, Château de Versailles, and the majestic Eiffel Tower.
As the night unfolded, runners were not alone in their journey. Renowned athletes like Alistair Brownlee, Paula Radcliffe, and Mo Farah, among others, ran alongside them, adding to the electric atmosphere. The route featured interactive elements such as a luminous tunnel challenging runners on the toughest stretch and giant screens displaying messages of encouragement from athletes and families, courtesy of Orange and Bridgestone.
The Marathon Pour Tous was not just a physical feat but a celebration of unity and inclusivity. Spectators lined the streets, cheering on these everyday athletes turned champions. The event also embraced technology with the Marathon Pour Tous Connecté, allowing over 200,000 participants worldwide to join in virtually, making it the largest connected race in history.
